Connect your AI to Telegram & WhatsApp
Install the BoB Chat plugin in Claude Code, Codex or Claude Desktop and wire your AI into your Telegram and WhatsApp. Your AI reads, searches, summarises and replies — while everything runs on your own phone.
1 · Add BoB Chat to your AI
Pick your client — each takes one step. Claude Code and Codex install the BoB Chat plugin from our marketplace bob-tools/bob-plugins; Claude Desktop takes a one-click bundle built from the same marketplace. The Claude web and mobile apps use a connector instead.
Claude Code
Add the marketplace once, then install the plugin:
/plugin marketplace add bob-tools/bob-plugins
/plugin install bob-chat@bob-plugins
Connects over HTTPS — no npm needed. Sign in when prompted (step 3).
Claude Desktop
Download the bundle and double-click it. Claude Desktop installs the plugin and shows a settings form — no Node or terminal needed.
Download bob-chat.mcpbBuilt from the same bob-tools/bob-plugins marketplace as the Codex and Claude Code plugins — one canonical copy, always the latest.
Claude — web & mobile app
Nothing to download. BoB Chat plugs in as a connector, right where the chat box is:
- In the message box hit + → Connectors → Manage connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector and paste the server URL below.
- Sign in when Claude asks (step 3) — then flip BoB Chat on in the same + → Connectors menu.
https://chat-mcp.bob.tools
Custom connectors need a paid Claude plan. Our other server, BoB Tools (forms, tables, dashboards), is listed in + → Connectors → Browse connectors — search “BoB Tools” and hit Connect. See the BoB Tools connector →
Codex
In the Codex app: Plugins → + → Add marketplace. Paste the source below (Git ref main, Sparse paths can stay empty), then add BoB Chat from the Personal tab.

Advanced — Cursor, other MCP clients, Codex CLI
Cursor & other MCP clients
Add a remote (HTTP) server — OAuth signs you in on first use:
https://chat-mcp.bob.tools
Codex (CLI)
The same marketplace from the terminal, then install BoB Chat from the plugin list:
codex plugin marketplace add bob-tools/bob-plugins
Or skip plugins and point Codex straight at the remote server in ~/.codex/config.toml (it fetches the tools live, so updates land without a re-install):
[mcp_servers.bob-chat]
url = "https://chat-mcp.bob.tools"
OAuth signs you in on first use. Pointing at the URL means tool updates land automatically — no re-install, just reconnect. (Remote/HTTP MCP needs a recent Codex build; on an older one bridge it with npx -y mcp-remote https://chat-mcp.bob.tools.)
2 · Link your phone
BoB Chat is a relay: your AI talks to our server, which forwards each request straight to the BoB Chat app on your phone. So link the phone too:
BoB Chat on your phone
- Install BoB Chat (Android or iOS) and sign into Telegram, WhatsApp or both (WhatsApp links by QR code or pairing code).
- Open Accounts → Remote control (MCP) and sign in to your bob.tools account (one-time email code).
- This links the phone as a chat-control device for that account.
The free plan covers 30 remote requests a day; BoB Pro and BoB Max make them unlimited. Get the app on Google Play or the App Store.
3 · Sign in
The first time your AI uses a tool, a browser opens to sign in to bob.tools — your client handles the OAuth automatically (in Claude Code you can also run /mcp → Authenticate). Sign in and you're done; tokens are saved and refresh automatically.
- Sign in with the same bob.tools account you linked in the app
- That match is how the server routes a command to your phone
4 · Confirm the link
Ask your AI to list your devices — it calls chat_overview and you should see your phone. Then try it out:
Prefer the browser? See & manage your linked devices and accounts → — your plan, the account limit and every phone linked to your bob.tools account.

Private by design — your sessions stay on your phone
Every request is fetched live from your phone and passed to your AI; Telegram and WhatsApp stay signed in on your device, not on our servers. That also means your phone has to be online. See plans & pricing →
